Elevation
So I just got my Griffin Elevator stand for my laptop, and I’m using it now. Just wanted to say, for anyone out there using their laptop-as-a-desktop for any length of time, this thing is the best £25 you can spend.
The machine is raised up approximately 4-5″ and tilted at a slight angle, which puts […]
Visual Clarity
So it looks like my new setup is going to be a 15″ MacBook Pro + Extra Big Ass Monitor™, rather than the 17″ or 20″ iMac + 12″ iBook setup I’ve been rocking for the past few years. My approach has always been, until recently, to have a powerful desktop setup and a […]
iPod 6G mockup
Well, given that the current iPod is 4.1″x2.4″, if they shave 1″ off the height, and keep the screen size the same, they’ll have to shrink the Click Wheel and possibly end up with something like this. Given the dimensions, I wouldn’t be surprised if the final form factor is closer to a square (the face […]
Wireless Silence
You know, I’ve got a challenge for anyone out there with some time to spare: get Sony Ericsson (and all the other phone manufacturers) a clue.

Apple TV Floating Photo Screensaver with Quartz Composer
The guys over at Uneasy Silence recently linked to the Floating Photos screensaver ripped off the Apple TV disk image, and asked if anyone was up to the task of getting it running on 10.4 machines.
I’ve been tinkering with the original file they linked, which essentially presented 3 objects (Near, Middle, Far) that rotated periodically. […]
Dashboard Development continues…
Well folks. We have a widget. Ok, so it’s not exactly groundbreaking. It may not even work. Heck, it doesn’t even have an icon, but hey, it’s a start. So if you want to check it out, download DayBreak here.
Dashboard Development update…
Well I’ve got the basics of the javascript behind DayBreak working in a webpage. You can check it out here. (Only tested in Safari/Webkit, obviously.)
This will chart a workday (9am-6pm), and highlight the current hour. Marginally handy if you’d like some visual marker on your life slipping away.
Development on Simulacra, the iPhone simulator, has been […]
