The Happiest Day
June 21st, 2006
Today is a happy day. I finally googled the instructions for how to uninstall IE7 beta 2 from my PC at work.
For those who don’t know, IE7 beta is roughly as useful as Netscape Navigator 1.0. Most things that work ok in IE6 are now broken in IE7. “It’s a beta” I hear you cry. Dry your eyes. This beta has been in progress for roughly the same amount of time as things such as:
- The Wright Brother’s first airplane
- fire
- Duke Nukem Forever
And from the state of things at this stage, the best thing that could possibly happen is that it never gets released to the public.
Thankfully, it is only due for release with zero point energy Vista, so we’re talking early 2007 rollout, and late 2010 widespread adoption. Hopefully by then we’ll all be cruising on OS X 10.9 and smiling about the irony of it all.
