Hello, welcome to newsvine.

On behalf of many users of newsvine, I’d like to point out a great post you should read before commenting or posting any more seeds or articles

Just thought I’d share that your recent seed

and a recent comment.

do not (IMHO) do not fall under these guidelines.

I’m not here to argue with you about it. Just thought I’d slip this opinion by you and hope you can see where I’m coming from.

Newsvine is not Digg with AP stories. I’d like to see it stay this way.

Best,
Kenny Smith
Concerned Newsvine user.”

Ok, wtf?!

    Hey There,

I did leave you my email address so you could have just emailed me directly if you had a problem with what I was saying…

But I hardly see how “awesome haircut, LOL!” is something newsworthy, know what I’m saying? I think something like that would be awesome on a social link site like del.icio.us or ma.gnolia but not exactly appropriate on a news site.

I am trying my best to do my part to not have newsvine have immature antics distracting from the conversation. It’s what made me leave slashdot, and now digg.

and to r0b1 — I have not yet received negative feedback from the newsvine staff, but if I do, i will indeed no longer make requests to people to not seem to quite get why people are flocking to newsvine.

My comment was quoting tow-thousand year old liturature. Your comment,

“LOL they got all upset about some cartoon of Mohammed. OMG what if they saw Southpark?! :P
    R.”

Does not add to the conversation, it distracts.

That’s my opinion you’re welcome to yours. But if you want to “WTF” me on a public forum, I feel it neccesary to defend my grouns on the matter. next time feel free to email me directly. kenny[[ta]]standsolid.com

Yeah, but point is KENNY, newsvine isn’t yours to patrol! Saying you don’t want to see it turn into Digg or /. is way out of order. Mailing users directly, policing newsvine behind the backs of the authors, that’s completely inappropriate.

If you want to control it, built one yourself. See how many people use it.
